Photograph Taken On Thursday, July 19, 1984

G-BAFD, MBB Bo-105DB (CN S035) of Gleneagles Helicopters seen departing St Andrews University sports fields at Lang Lands, St Andrews on 19 July 1984. The site was used as a heliport during the 113th British Open Golf Championship (won that year by Seve Ballesteros). Fox Delta started life as a 105C with Mackenzie-Hill, a property development company in October 1972 before moving to Wimpey Laboratories Ltd in January 1975 then Ferranti Helicopters in June 1977, Ferranti in turn was taken over by British Caledonian Helicopters in 1979 and Fox Delta remained with them until May 1984, when it joined Gleneagles. In 1989 it was sold to Bond Helicopters and served in a number of roles with them until 1998 when it was sold South Africa as ZS-RLK, operating until 2005 when it was apparently withdrawn from use.
