The driver of 66137, carefully negotiates the tight curve linking Knottingley South with Knottingley East Junctions before bringing the train to a halt for a crew change, the train is booked to stop here for a couple of minutes before heading east towards Drax. This spur between Knottingly South & East Junctions was opened in 1915 by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway to move coal to Goole Docks directly from the expanding coalfield around Doncaster, now it's used mainly to allow imported Biomass from Immingham reach Drax. The Ardagh Group Glass manufacturing facility provides a welcome industrial backdrop. 66137 with 6H79 18:15 Immingham to Drax Power Station 18th May 2020View image on Flickr
