The story of Loganair's 'Spirit of Sandy'. On 21st. October 2014, Loganair lost one of it's pilots, Captain Sandy Torrance. Barely a month earlier, Sandy had gone home early from work complaining of a headache. It sadly turned out to be an inoperable brain tumour, which took Sandy’s life just five weeks after the diagnosis. All but one of Loganair's aircraft are named after destination they fly to, the exception is 'Spirit of Sandy'. G-LGND seen preparing for departure from Norwich International Airport (NWI), Norfolk.
