Tenby Mr. Gonne, captain of the Tenby lifeboat (ab. 1855)

Tenby Photo: a fantastic Tenby Photograph Featuring Mr. Gonne, captain of the Tenby lifeboat (ab. 1855)

Photograph Taken On Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Mr. Gonne, captain of the Tenby lifeboat (1853-1856). The original photo - here shown edited and colorized by me - is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art archive. The photographer is not known. Tenby (Welsh: Dinbych-y-pysgod, meaning fortlet of the fish) is a walled seaside town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on the western side of Carmarthen Bay. With this photo I would like to honour the brave (volunteer and professional) maritime rescue workers all over the world. www.international-maritime-rescue.org/View image on Flickr
